Welcome to the Family!

So as some of you may know, we lost our 18-year-old dog, Tikka, a year ago in January. We’ve pretty much always had three dogs, but losing her was very hard and it took us a really long time to consider getting another dog, but we finally did.

But oh my gosh, it has been the most difficult thing I’ve done outside of adopting a child! I filled out about nine applications over the course of two months and only heard back on about four of them. Which is crazy to me, if you’re trying to find homes for animals, why would you not get back to somebody who applies? Even if it’s to say that dog already has a home, don’t you have anybody else that you might want to see if it’s a good fit? It makes no sense to me.

But AFTER two months, and NINE applications, we finally found the one! Please give a warm welcome to Daisy Panek!

Driving Miss Daisy to her new home!

She’s about twelve pounds, and a suspected chiweenie. They estimated her age at between one and two, but both her foster mom and we think she’s definitely on the younger end of that, based on some of her little mannerisms.

She’s very playful, her and our younger pug have hit it off like firecrackers and are constantly playing with one another. She’s also very snuggly with both Tilly and Duncan.

Naptime!!

She’s snuggly with her people, too!

I hug your face now!

But being a suspected puppy she also loves stealing socks, eating cheese (she’s on some meds for a little cough she had), biting toes, standing in the window like a cat, and playing a little bit too rough from time to time. She also turns out to be another little escape artist, kind of like our pug. You definitely gotta watch the front door with this one!

It’s only been a few days and she’s already acclimated so well. It’s like she’s always been here. So welcome to our newest member of the furbaby family! We’re so glad to have you Daisy!

What do you mean dogs don’t stand in windows?
