As I sit here VERY early on Thanksgiving morning (thank you Daisy for all the barking), I pontificate on all I have to be thankful for. I am so grateful for:
A husband with almost unending patience. I am not always an easy person to love, but he does it without fail every day.
A bright, precocious, moody, not-so-little-anymore son. He has his “teenage” moments, but then these rays of pure caring, or thoughtful intellect, or intuitive maturity shine through and I’m so god damned proud of the person he is becoming.
All the support for the book and the blog. While I may dream of fame, I honestly couldn’t hope for much more love than I have had. I cross my fingers for the continued love and support.
A house full of the most precious fur babies ever. They may often be an (expensive) PITA, but home would never be home without them.
Family. Real family may not always understand you, but they always have your back. And even when times are tough, they are still, and always will be, family.
The best of friends. Whether they are people we see regularly, or people who we don’t touch base with as often as we used to or would like to, knowing they are always there if we need them is a great comfort and something to be thankful for.
Life may not be perfect. In fact, life most often is not perfect. But I hope that, even if it is only one thing, that you have something in your life to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
